Wounded: The Battle Back Home

For their tenth anniversary, Wounded Warrior Project commissioned Flow to produce a 12-part documentary series showing the heartbreaks and triumphs of the veterans they serve.

WWP had built a wide base of engaged supporters, and planned to distribute the series primarily on YouTube. A few months into production, we began to suspect there may be an even bigger audience for these stories. We shared an early cut with MSNBC, and together we created a weekly broadcast centered around the docu-series. After its MSNBC run, Wounded: The Battle Back Home moved to Netflix, and the footage has since been used as the basis for countless fundraising, direct response, and commemorative spots.

The innovative financing and distribution approach would go on to serve as a model for Flow’s Hulu series Small Business Revolution.
